Do you ever look at truly joyful Christians and think - what do they have that I don't?

So many of us have been there, and so often it comes down to this:

Are we hanging on to baggage we picked up from someone who isn't God?

Are there places where the devil is still writing the script?

Are there places where hurtful words from past relationships are still setting the tone?

Are there places where our trauma is overpowering the truth?

This is normal and common, but God also invites us to rise above all this and more in Him. All these places are strongholds of lies that keep us from being all-in with God, and that in turn makes it impossible for God to pour out all the gifts He wants to into us - there's no space for them!

As long as the lies go unchecked, our minds are cluttered with places that we have not submitted fully to Jesus as King, and so he doesn't have sovereignty there. He is a gentleman. He is never a dictator. He will never rip your free will out of your hands, come in and tear everything down and take over.

But when you start the hard work of willfully submitting those places to him, he will absolutely come in and make miracles possible. The freedom He wants to give you is unimaginable, and all of it lives on the other side of the lies we're so often too afraid to unravel.

But you don't have to be afraid. You are not alone. God is with you, most importantly, and we're with you too - for every step of the journey. Let's head out.
